Berwyndale to Wallumbilla Pipeline

This project commenced with work with AGL's Project Managers IDM to Design and Engineer the pipeline utilising the engineering capability of WorleyParsons to complete a constructability and route refinement review prior to completing the preliminary alignment survey using J Hedges Geomeasure.

WDS assisted the client with negotiations with local landholders, councils and regulatory authorities including EPA, DNR-W and DMR to obtain regulatory approval to commence construction.

WDS completed construction of the 113km pipeline through rural and forested areas south east of Miles to the Wallumbilla Gas hub south east of Roma. The work includes the installation of a launcher facility at the Miles end to receive Coal Seam Methane gas from QGC tenements, and a receiver facility at the Wallumbilla Gas Hub, together with interconnecting pipe work into the new Epic Wallumbilla Compressor Station.

Construction required two horizontal directional drills; one under Dogwood Creek South of Miles and the second under Yuleba Creek further to the west.

Eight intersecting sealed roads were crossed by auger Bores with numerous other roads constructed by open cut. Extra depth of cover has been provided to allow for the continuation of agricultural activities across the pipeline easement.
